Ein absolut faszinierendes Buch. Und zwar deshalb, weil es keine seiner Chancen nutzt. Keine!

Die Mickeys stellen sich beim zentralen Thema, dass es beide gleichzeitig nicht geben darf, so ausgesprochen dämlich und auch lasch an, dass es kaum auszuhalten ist. Das Buch an sich scheint sich für die Spannung seiner eigenen Prämisse gar nicht zu interessieren. Auch die philosophischen Einstreusel bleiben allesamt sofort auf der Strecke, wenn Tiefe droht.

Übrig bleibt eine Geschichte, in der eigentlich gar nichts passiert, die nicht packt und weder Fragen aufwirft noch beantwortet. Für mich war es genau das richtige für einen Tag mit dickem Kopf am Strand. Wobei: Möwen beobachten könnte spannender gewesen sein.

Best book I've read in a while. Decided to give it a try after all of the hype following the release of Mickey 17 and boy, am I glad I did. Felt so good to be reading a book that's totally my type after so long. Definitely a very humorous read; did not expect to giggle and snicker as much as I did.

Lots of wordbuilding (which I actually enjoyed). Had some moments that made me laugh out loud. But I did not expect the ending! It's a good book if you want some dark sci-fi but in a chill way.
