Once I discovered that Mickey 17 was based on a book, I quickly added it to my TBR list. I was thrilled when one of my book clubs selected it as this month’s read. I listened to the audiobook, and the narration was excellent, setting the tone perfectly. The book weaves together emotional and lighthearted moments, making it an incredibly enjoyable read and listen. I highly recommend it to any sci-fi enthusiasts seeking a quirky and satirical read!
I decided to read this before I saw the movie (which I’ll be seeing tomorrow). This was such an interesting premise and I wasn’t disappointed diving into it. The world building Ashton does is truly incredible. The small bits of history before the events of Mickey7, past iterations of Mickey and how expendables became to be helped the story along and didn’t feel out of place.
I enjoyed Nasha and Mickey’s connection the most. How dedicated they were to each other (even if to extreme points LMAO). Really if I had a double of my partner I would freak it too

Really enjoyed this one! Loved the world building. I felt like the ~mystery~ could have been a bit more drawn out (I love first contact/species trying to understand each other storylines so I felt a little robbed but that’s just me lol). The ending def sneaks up and ties things up pretty neatly, but like, in a way that makes it clear there’s more of a story to tell. Looking forward to reading the next one!

It was fine! A really easy read, the last 1/4 of the book is when the plot takes over definitely but it felt rushed. Things were tied up really simple and easy but it seemed like they were too simple.
