There are very few of these books where I feel like the main character doesn't deserve what happened to them, but this one seemed to have that. But this one especially really had a few stories where it just felt like it was coming to attack the main characters for no real reason. The rest at least have the vibe of a "and they live (or well--) to regret it".

Whew, Cawthon messes with me on this one. The body horror in these three stories, ESPECIALLY the first one, really got to me. Ooof. That one actually creeped me out enough that I had to set the book down and finish it later. Not sure why but Gumdrop Angel REALLY dialed up the creep ick squick factor for me.

Still impressed with this series as a whole. Good job, Scott!
