I’m an audiobook lover for convenience sake most days, why not get some reading in while you sud the dishes. I never read or watched the world of the Baudelaire orphans in my own childhood and only now do I realize what a loss that was to the child who would have treasured every element of this. The most delicious voice of Tim Curry captivated me immediately and I felt as though I was sinking into a deep plush chair to be soothed by the experience of this book. I think everyone should try the audiobook by Harper audio at least once in their life to listen to a lost treasure like Curry captivate the reader and enchant them into staying with atmospheric noise and music and individual voice acting for every character to develop those dimensions. This is an artwork to listen to for all and should serve as the template of all audio productions.
Aside from the audio the book itself is perfectly enchanting and curious for any young mind. Something about the avid reader causes such cravings for the cushiony life lead by the pre-orphan Baudelaire children . Maybe their ability to take in the world and become rich with knowledge, comforts, wit, and setting. Their microscopes and books and libraries and fine home are all a fantasy world for children like I was and their constant strife through life is so intriguing as to take the reader from their fantasy life into struggle. Not often do books for children begin with death or involve the topics brought forth here but it does so in such a shroud that it is consumable for the young mind and casual for the adult. I cant wait to show my little niece this when she is old enough to listen. I just hope she won’t be inspired to bite.

I was a lame kid and never read A Series of Unfortunate Event book. It just didn't interest me with how dark and sad it was. I was more of a Babysitters Club kind of kid. I felt like I needed to at least give this a shot, so I picked up The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. Super quick read. It was so depressing, so I feel kind of shitty if I say I enjoyed reading a book about kids being abused pretty much, but I enjoyed it? I loved how strong the kids are as a family and how they'll try anything to make their lives better. It was a 4 star read for me.
