It was mildly amusing - my son liked it and it expanded his knowledge of Norse mythology. But I couldn't get into it personally.

I read this after my wisdom teeth surgery, so I barely remember anything because of the pain. But the fast paced-ness, was good as a distraction from the pain, normally I would read more slower paced books, but this was a great short read for surgery recovery.

this was fine, some cute short stories

I like novellas because they bring something new to the world, whether that is character development, an interesting plotline that adds to the story but just didn't make sense in the original narrative, or diving deeper into the world. For whatever reason, the novellas that Rick Riordan writes just don't seem to hit any of the right notes for me. I adore the books and would typically like to see more from the characters, but there just didn't feel like there was a point to any of the stories. I didn't get to know the characters more, the world didn't grow for me, and the plotlines weren't engaging. I will continue to read each one and hope that one day I actually enjoy them and feel like they contributed to the worlds that RR built and I love.

I was provided a free ecopy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
By now, we should all know what to expect from the "in between" books of Rick Riordan's series. 9 From the Nine Worlds is a new short story collection that takes place shortly after Ship of the Dead The collection is told in the point of view of nine characters and follows them as they adventure into each of the nine worlds with one very large (and smelly) connection. While Magnus doesn't make an opinion in this book, we do get to read more about all of our favorite side characters in the Magnus Chase books.

These stories are very enjoyable and light-hearted. I would not look for depth here though. The stories probably won't hold much impact for the rest of the series should it continue. I had fun with these. 3/5 stars.
