Leave No Truce by Jo Callaghan is book two in the Kat and Locke series. If you like mystery, thriller, police procedural, and AI then you will love this book.

I loved In the Blink of An Eye and this book was no different. Inspector Kat Frank works with AI aide Locke a hologram from a watch like wrist wear. Kat is the heart and Frank by the book to they work well together.  They are on a mission to find out who is doing the very graphic killing of the men in town. Jo knows how to write a book that keeps you hooked from the beginning and has you trying to figure out who is the killer throughout the book. I didn’t know want to put this book down until I figured out who did it. Great series!! Thank you to Random House and NetGalley for letting me read the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions.
dark emotional mysterious tense fast-paced

After reading book two, I am all in on the rest of the series. This is such a fun series and yet so thought provoking. I was impressed with how the murderer was written - while I was reading, I had no clue who it was, but once they were revealed, it was obvious and I could see the breadcrumbs along the way. This shows the talent of the author. I really enjoyed the development in the odd relationship between Kat and AIDE Lock. I think that alone provokes a lot of thought on the place of AI.

Detective Kat Frank and her AI partner, AIDE Lock, are given their first live case, one where a man has been found crucified atop a local hill. When a second man is found in similar circumstances, they are concerned there is a serial killer on their hands.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Publishing Group for the ARC.
