Another fantastic book! Book 2 of The Wilderking Trilogy. The continuing story of Aiden, King Darrow, Corenwald, and the feechies in Feechiefen. Once again the kids kept asking for more anytime I would try to stop reading! A fabulous continuation of the fictional retelling of the story of David (before he becomes King). They can't wait for me to read the rest of the story in book 3!

I love the wilderking books

I liked the feechifen, and entertainment on the sing stump. I’ve always been a guy who loves nature, and this is the perfect book for that.

A fun second installment in the series! Rogers is insanely creative, and that shines through here. I'm looking forward to the next/final installment.

This is the story of Aidan Errolson. It just so happens that his life parallels King David's. Aidan lives in a swamp in Corenwald and his father is one of King Darrow's nobles. Part of the charm of this story comes from the feechies, an elusive and wild people that live in the swamps. They fight alligators with stone tools because it is more fun to keep things fair. They greet each other with head butts and they love a good rudeswap. They are adventure and danger and when King Darrow wants to take Aidan’s life, he sends him into feechiefen swamp. No civilizer would dare enter, even though many don’t believe the feechies exist. In the first book Aidan makes friends with a feechie and it is evident that he is the prophesied wilderking that will be a bridge between feechies and civilizers. In this book he goes into the swamp only to learn that some feechies have become voluntary slaves when they are wooed by pride and possessions.

This is a great book for boys, there are few females in it, none with significant roles. That did not stop me from loving it. Jonathan Rogers is an exceptionally gifted writer. This is the 20th anniversary edition, making it a well-deserved classic.
