I read one of these poems "Dept of Ephebic Dreamery" in one of my writing classes last year and included excerpts from it in undoubtedly the most personal thing I have ever written, an essay that I submitted for the class. I, of course, felt the need to buy the collection it was from and was not disappointed by the other works. Dennigan writes such haunting and sorrowful words, the meaning of which seems so subliminal that it goes over my head most of the time. That being said, I admire her work immensely, particularly her ability to write with such genuine honesty and rawness, something that I think can only be found in a great writer.
