This series continues to delight. I find it fun and exciting and this book was no exception. I liked the concept of the story and paired with Ms. Zanetti's writing style made this book a fast read. Jethro and Gemma's story was entertaining, but I especially loved the wider dynamics of the team, nothing makes me happier than a posse of oddballs finding each other. The action is also great and there are so many twists that it keeps you reading. These guys are badasses and so are the women.
The lower rating compared to the other books in the series comes from me not connecting with Gemma, the heroine. But that's on me. In my opinion, she lacked chemistry with Jethro. And the book also didn't come together as well as some of the other books in the Deep Ops series. It started out good but slowed down toward the end. But overall, it was a captivating story that kept me reading, even with these small issues aside. I'm still very much enjoying this series and I'm looking forward to the next entries.

TBH the hero might have made me roll my eyes a few times or so 😆 but Rebecca Zanetti’s Unforgiven gave me the kind of uncomplicated thrills and excitement I was looking for.

With this book another member of the Deep Ops team gets his HEA—whether he accepts it or not.

Sexy Brit Jethro Hanson has had a lot of lovers but mostly of the one night only variety. When he meets ice queen professor Gemma Falls he immediately makes snap judgements about her, based on his own past.

It turns out single mom Gemma has lots of secrets & might not be as icy as he thought. But someone’s targeting both of them.

As mentioned at the beginning of the review, despite Jethro’s many fine attributes, his appearance, charm, intelligence, physical prowess & save-the-day-ness, his judgments about Gemma seem largely unfounded to me & he isn’t self-aware of them fast enough/deeply enough for my taste.

But in general it’s sweet watching him fall for Gemma & her daughter & seeing how much the team values & cares for him. The sense of found family—& the shared life they’re building in the neighborhood—is heartwarming.

This was a fast-paced read that was great for the moment & my mood—& to me that’s so satisfying.

Release date: 06/07.

CWs: lots, including abuse, murder. Toxic biological families.

My favourite dysfunctional family of disgruntled spies, psychologists and warriors is back with a bang.  This time the hero is their English colleague, Jethro.

Jethro has always been around to lend a hand in the previous books but not much was known about the former spy-turned Professor.  Now we get to what makes him tick and what demons he's on the run from!

Gemma is a mum on the run with the cutest toddler in history!  She makes an impact on our Jethro and soon finds herself in danger once more but is it enemies from her past or his?

Roscoe, Kat and their various humans make an appearance and it gave me the warm fuzzies to see how they are all getting on.  That housing estate they're building is going to have to grow some soon to fit them all.

My fave scene involved a toddler, 2 huge, but injured, mercenaries and cartoons LOL.  Can't wait to see this series evolve and here's to many ory to come!
