Did I enjoy it? Yes. It is, for sure, a dark romance, but not like the standard dark romance. It centers around a more sadistic secret society, and it is more a slow seduction into the darkness along with the heroine.
Was I consumed by it? No, I absolutely put this down or went a few days without listening. I didn’t have that all consuming listen at every minute feeling about it.
Would I read more? Yes, I really enjoyed her writing and the overall different tone of this dark romance. I would imagine her others are similar to this.
It had wonderful narrators. I really felt like they brought the characters to life.

This was a solid 3.5 stars for me. Little mystery and a little dark romance. And a little disturbing.

I have to say it almost felt like there was too much going on and it got needlessly complicated by the end of the book. Some loose ends got tied up super fast, there were several practically coincidental things that just didn't make sense in real life (like Boyd being connected to *everyone*, like her mom being there when she's getting the yearbook)... at the same time there are other symbols/motifs throughout that I kept thinking were going to turn into bigger plot points (such as the raven with one eye, Melody at the Institute, the moths, Boyd's twin) that were just swept under the rug.
I think it was a 4.75 ☆ read for me until around Ch. 50 (I ended up giving it 4.25, but I'm considering a 4). When more and more of Isa's trauma started popping up, it seemed like overkill. She kept mentioning that Lucian "isn't like other guys" but then we never heard about any sexual experiences of hers besides out right terrible ones. Suddenly we find out that Laura can *walk through walls or something??* and she's been faking? dementia? (That part threw me off so bad)
I am really glad that I read the bonus chapters though, they wrapped up the story much better than the actual book ending I felt like? Completely required to read them.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job. This story wasn't for me due to not enjoying when the story jumps between past and present.
I liked the characters, the overall plot didn’t make a lot of sense to me.
