So much trauma, so much heartbreak, so much dark twisted plot. The spice was delicious and not over the top. I liked the ending the most because the characters remain themselves, owning who and what they are. I would love a follow up novella or something to how life is years later. Will their be an heir and can the show that genetics don’t mean everything

This was such a great introduction into the mind of Keri Lake! The gothic vibes this book was giving was amazing, I mean literally the whole plot takes place in an old castle 😍. Lucian Blackthorne is dark, twisted, broken (just how we like them) but he is one of the most loyal book boyfriends I have read about in a while! This book was such a great read and honestly creepy as hell!

Utter perfection. I absolutely loved this book. The atmosphere. The plot. The characters. Everything melded together to create an emotional and suspenseful story. I loved it and was incredibly impressed with Keri Lake's writing. She created a world rich with characters and ambience and I want more of it. This will not be my last book by this author and am so happy I picked this one up. It was amazing.

I guess this author just isn't for me.
I felt like I never really got to know the FMC, and the MMC is primarily done through flashbacks. Therefore, it really felt like the plot wasn't going anywhere. When they finally got to spicy scenes, I wasn't invested.
