I love this book to death. I remember first wrapping a book after a marathon session into the early evening, picking up Adulting 101 as a recommendation immediately after, and reading myself blind until like 2 in the morning.

Despite the edgy premise, this is a book simply about two guys trying to make it. I love every character, from Nick and his inability to censor himself to Jai, who has everything figured out until Nick pushes him to reevaluate his path. Nick/Devon is one of my all-time favorite bromances, and where this book excels is that it treats who would otherwise be throwaway background characters as complicated, emotionally driven characters, from Devon to Jai’s family to NIck’s parents.

Super funny, endearing comfort read. This might be a yearly staple.

This book is something I didn’t know I needed in my life. I just can’t describe how funny this was. I can’t even remember when was the last time I laughed so much while reading a book. It was hilarious and I loved it.

Let’s start by talking about one of the main characters, Nick. That guy was so funny and always got in the weirdest and funniest situations but he still had problems especially related to his future. I really liked Nick. He’s one of that guys who has no filter and says everything that comes too his mind. He also thinks about weird stuff in weird moments, he’s hormonal as hell and reading from his POV was one of the funniest things ever. However, as I said before, not everything is perfect in his life. He has problems with his parents, especially his dad, and he doesn’t really know what he wants to do with his life but feels pressured to go to college… like almost every 18 year-old out there. That’s one of the reasons why I really liked this book. It was not only about romance and Nick’s relationship with Jai but also about growing up and trying to figure out what he wanted to do with his life. I also loved his friendship with Devon. I loved those two together especially because those sometimes looked like they shared a brain. I loved how they showed how much they liked each other and how much they cared for each other. Also, it’s not every day that a straight guy snuggle with his gay BFF but in this book that’s a normal occurrence and for me it was great. They were hilarious and their text exchanges were the best things ever. I LOVED IT and I loved that this book also focused on their friendship. I really liked Jai too. His life plan includes traveling for 9 months a year and work for 3 months so he can get money for those 9 months traveling. I really liked to see him with Nick and how Nick grew on him even if he wasn’t the easiest person to deal with. I really liked that while he was older and already saw a lot of the world he still didn’t know what to do in his future and that for now he only lived for his traveling all over the world. And his family was one of the best things ever. You know those families who keep getting in the person’s life and kind of embarrassing them but you know that they really love the person?? His family was just like that and I loved it. I really liked how Nick and Jai’s relationship went from f*ck buddies to a real relationship but I liked if we could have seen more of them talking about stuff (not that they haven’t talked about it).

Not only I loved the characters but I also really enjoyed the writing style. It was an easy and fast read and well written. I liked that it had a dual POV and that Nick and Jai’s voices were different from each other. I also really liked that this book didn’t have unnecessary drama. Not every book needs drama. And I can’t forget to talk about how funny this was. Lisa Henry did a great job writing this book (PS.: don’t drink water or something else while reading this book. I know from experience that your phone/e-reader/whatever won’t like it XD).

Overall, this was a great book. I loved how funny it was and how it wasn’t all about romance. Not only I liked this book but I thought it was super funny. I can only recommend this book to everyone… well, at least if you like to read M/M romances.

This was pretty good. LOL Nick his mouth and the situations he found himself in. He defiantly needed Jai in his life. They balanced each other.

While I like Lisa Henry's darker stuff, I love her and JA Rock's lighter stuff. This one fits into the lighter category and she did it by herself! Nick is sooo young but he does grow up. He is such a typical teenager at first that I'm not sure why Jai gives him the time of day. Jai himself needed to grow up a bit though, too.

There are lots of humorous moments, pop culture references, and sexy times.

This book was literally EVERYTHING. When I caved in and bought it I had no idea what I was in for but it was worth it. Oh, it was so worth it. Adulting 101 has almost everything I love all wrapped into one. A bit of pining, some steamy scenes, some awkward ones, so much comic relief I constantly had to cover my mouth because I found myself laughing a bit too loudly for it being two in the morning. And, to top it off it had some adorable, dorky and charming characters and friendships in it. I kind of really just want to hold this book to my chest because it makes me so happy. I am pretty positive Adulting 101 is the definition of a comfort read. Don't think about just go read it!

Hysterical, sweet, sexy, and a wonderful read. I was in love with Nick and his word vomit. He was adorable, a little hopeless, but so sweet and perfect! And Jai was his perfect match, exactly the opposite of him. The bromance with Devon was great, not taking away from the story as some close friendships can. And I can completely relate to Nick's total loss of what to do next in life. No matter how old you are, it never gets easier.

Hilarious and sweet

This book had me laughing out loud from the start. I did wonder if a book with one of the main characters being only 18 would be too young for me to enjoy but with Jai being older it did work. A quick, easy book to read. A rather abrupt ending but I guess it wrapped up as a HFN.

A funny sweet story. Nick was awkward and adorable. No wonder Jai struggled to figure him out.
