I was hoping to relate more to this book but my symptoms don't align much with Laura's. However, there was a lot of really good information and small similarities that voiced my inner feelings very acutely. My main complaint would be that it seemed to be too long, and in the parts where she was anxious, I felt anxious, but in the parts where she wasn't anxious, I was bored. I will leave it at 3 stars because this is a story that needs to be told more often, and Laura's journey is helpful for many autistic women.

Laura James was diagnosed with autism in her 40s. Here she details her life before and after her diagnosis and how the diagnosis allowed her to gain a better understanding of how her brain works. Having recently been diagnosed with ADHD, there was a lot in this book that was very relatable, and even more that I learned about (this one particular person’s experience with) autism.
