Oh. My. Word. I am so hooked.

I literally read this in one sitting, which was not my intention when I sat down to read "a bit". I have not been this riveted by a manga since I first started reading Death Note. Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata really do make an unstoppable team. I wonder how much of this story is fiction and how much is drawn directly from their lives as manga authors/artists.

If you enjoy Tsugumi Ohba & Takeshi Obata's work, or if you've ever wondered what it takes to make it in manga, then do not hesitate to give this a read.

i find the theme of manga publishing and the uncle's story entertaining enough, but so far, mashiro and azumi are quite uninteresting and bland for me. takagi carries the story and i always look forward to seeing him.

A truly excellent manga. I took a star off because of the outdated sexist attitudes of the characters.

3.5

I love the premise of this story about two boys striving to become world-class manga artists. I also love the slow beginnings of a love story between Azuki and Mashiro. Good start to this story!

3.5!
I really enjoyed the story, the characters are great! But there is so much sexism in this manga! Not a fan of that aspect, but I enjoyed everything else.

The sexism of the characters is annoying, but the story outside of the budding romance is actually intriguing. Some jerk ripped about 5 pages out of the library copy I got, though, including the last one. Serious grumble.
