Freaking amazing!!! Just what I needed, a good hearted book that I could relate to. It made me cry it made me laugh and smile, and I juts couldn't stop listening! such a beautifully written book and the audio book is so amazingly read! I love each character from Step to Stevie!!! I knew the second I herd about this book I was going to love it and I absolutely did!!! Oh god

Really enjoyed this book!
The rollercoaster of up and downs but the relatability of Comet’s feelings of aloneness. Her poetry and then profound love and togetherness with Tobias was amazing.

The first 80% of this book were very outstretched and the last part included so many events, it was a bit overwhelming. The story was cute.

More like 0.5/5. I wish I didn't have to say it, but this was painful. I can't even explain why I disliked it so much - was it the juvenile writing style, or the "ordinary girl becomes extraordinary because a hot boy loves her" trope? I just don't know. But I'm legitimately shocked I finished this book.
I will touch on one thing that especially bothered me. Yes, Comet's parents should have given more attention to their daughter. But parents are not "required" to love their child more than their spouse. It's a different kind of love that requires a different set of sacrifices. I think Comet's expectation that her parents choose her over each other was extremely misguided and problematic.
Also... the descriptions of her clothes? Yikes.

I loved it! I don't think I can say more than that. It's been a long while since a book felt so relatable to me, to pieces of my life as a teenager and even now as an adult, I've always been that boring girl and now woman who doesn't like to go parties because in the end I get bored and I much rather hang out with just a few friends and glass of wine or beer, preferably spend the night with a book or a good series/movie. So that's what I loved most of it, that I could see myself in Comet and the reminder to be brave, always!

Na pierwszy rzut oka historia zatytułowana „(Nie)zwyczajna” może wydawać się typową miłosną opowiastką o nieśmiałej dziewczynie i typowym amerykańskim bad boyu. Wywnioskować to można po samym już opisie książki, ale niech on Was nie zwiedzie! (Między innymi przez takie rzeczy nie lubię tych skrótów na tylnej okładce.) Owszem, Comet to nastolatka, która wolałaby się nie wychylać, ale czy Tobias pełni w tej historii rolę pełnoprawnego zbuntowanego chłopaka? Nie jestem o tym do końca przekonana, bo jego sytuacja jest bardziej złożona, niż mogłoby się wydawać.
„Bo odwaga nie jest czymś, co można znaleźć na dnie kubka z gorącą czekoladą lub w kilku słowach ulubionego nauczyciela”. str. 68
Samantha Young nie tylko przedstawia relację dwojga nastolatków, ale buduje wokół tego coś więcej – podejmuje kwestię nieoczywistych problemów rodzinnych, zdrowotnych, ale i pokazuje siłę prawdziwej przyjaźni. Dąży do tego, by dać do zrozumienia, że akceptacja samego siebie lub swojej sytuacji jest niezwykle ważna. Czasem też trzeba zdać sobie sprawę, że w niektórych momentach nie da się zrobić więcej – trzeba odpuścić i resztę powierzyć losowi. Wiem, że te zdania mogą brzmieć trochę enigmatycznie, jednak stanowią w jakiś sposób część tego, co wyniosłam z lektury „(Nie)zwyczajnej” – reszty oczywiście Wam nie zdradzę, bo już nie mielibyście po co czytać tej książki!
Twórczość autorki poznałam już jakiś czas temu – dane mi było przeczytać dylogię, na którą składają się książki „Żyj szybko, kochaj głęboko” oraz „Tylko ty mnie zrozumiesz”. Nie pamiętam z nich za wiele, ale wiem, że nie były całkiem złe. Tym razem jednak mogę stwierdzić, iż „(Nie)zwyczajną” czytało mi się całkiem szybko, ponieważ historia jest wciągająca, chociaż momentami wydaje się dość słodka. Młodzieży polecam zdecydowanie, choć wiem, że takich historii na rynku wydawniczym może być wiele. Myślę, iż nie zmarnujecie czasu przy tej lekturze!

Comet is a reserved, quirky, bookworm who has her quiet literary world shaken up by the new American student, Tobias.
I'll be honest, I absolutely love Samantha Young's books, but I wasn't sure how I would feel about The Fragile Ordinary. I had a little bit of a hard time connecting in the beginning, but I am glad that I stuck with it. I loved this book because it felt real. The friendships aren't perfect, the relationships are messy, and Comet has her walls built up so high it was difficult to climb, but that's what made me love it.
I think a lot of readers can relate to aspects of this story as it's not a lovely little happy fluffy story. It's flawed and realistic and I absolutely loved it.

Definitely worth a read. It was such a simple and average story line but written in such a way I could not stop reading. Reminded me of key aspects of life that should be appreciated.
