American classic
This was my last quick read of 2024, read in the afternoon of New Year’s Eve, mostly because it’s one I’ve started in the past and has sat on my currently reading list for so long that I couldn’t remember if it was even a reread or not.
This one is about a pampered pet dog named Buck that is stolen & sold off as a sled dog and must learn to adapt and survive and find his place in the order of the world.
The dog doesn’t die. Such a plus these days.

Me gustó mucho el mensaje y cómo se desarrollaba la historia. Simplemente me rompió el corazón
This is yet another classic I can't believe I missed. Okay, okay--so it's a sexist piece of masculine-ideal-glorification, and it would make anyone who knows anything about real dog psychology cringe. But it sure is fun. London forgets the rules of "show, don't tell" and tells one heck of a well-written adventure story. This book is quick, harsh and comes with my recommendation.

I love Buck and his story, some of the language is outdated, though. Hardly surprising considering when it was written. I certainly like London's writing better than Verne's. If you can stand to listen to descriptions of dogs being beaten, this may be a story you could enjoy. Happy reading!
