Look at me writing a review immediately after finishing a book! Who am I?!
This one was 100% adorbs—got wrapped up in it right away. Friends to lovers, a little bit of fake dating..what more could a girl want?
“If Noel can turn Nick’s “Blue Christmas” merry and bright, this might be the “Last Christmas” Nick spends with a broken heart. This year, they’ll be “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” as a couple—as long as Nick’s ex doesn’t go standing under any mistletoe.”
This was a lighthearted read (definitely something I needed after my recent book club read—refer to my last book review

3.75/5 Netflix Christmas movie story level, better than Hallmark but not exactly The Holiday

It was posed as a light-hearted romance novel to listen to over Xmas. However, the immaturity of the character Noel grated on my nerves in the book and made it a bit challenging to finish. I think the author's intent was to garner sympathy for her, as she dealt with the death of her parents, but it just wasn't my kind romance book I guess.

This was a sweet holiday romance. With a friends-to-lovers relationship to the fun hallmark-y vibe.
I liked seeing the growing relationship between nick and noel and their growth through each other and their situations.
My biggest issue was Noel's heavy issues and her dependency on others in her life when trying to fix them. This was definitely something that should've been talked through with a professional. I was also not the biggest fan of the petty drama between Nick's ex and Noel.
Overall, this was a fun holiday read with a cute and supportive romance with a large family atmosphere and a lovely small town.
Recommended for; anyone looking for a hallmark-y romance

This book was so tacky and immature, borderline unbearable dialogue at times… but I literally couldn’t stop turning the pages. Accidentally found myself kinda invested in the romance even??

This book was so cozy from the get-go. I swear, I fell into it immediately!
Nick and Noel are best friends, and now that Nick is back from serving his country, there are sparks flying between the two of them that they cannot ignore. The chemistry between them is wonderful; it's my favorite part of friends to lovers. They already have the established relationship, it is simply a matter of taking the leap to the next level.
Noel dealt with a lot that left her terrified of relationships, but Nick is with her every step of the way. He never pressures her, but he's also not afraid to let her know when she's being unreasonable and pushing him away. The way he walks that line is precious because they are family right from the start of the novel. His family took her in when her parents died, and they grew up together and became very close. As their relationship grows, that part of it never changes though her fear is that it will. Nick spends the book convincing her that even if they were to have a bad breakup, his family would still love her and so would he.
It is really touching to watch the two of them, and also super fun to see them tease each other and their other friends.
It was a super great romcom, and the addition of their playlist at the end was genius!
