Robin hobb is a master of characters. Each person felt so real and had believable, motivating flaws. What a delicious end to the trilogy. A hair slow, but the slowness felt important for all the character development 🤷‍♀️
I couldnt stop smiling during the big final battle. The way everything ans everyone finally came back together was so great! Can’t wait for amber and fitz to meet 🤭

PopSugar Reading Challenge 2022: A book with a quote from your favourite author on the cover (GRRM)

This was an incredible finale to an incredible trilogy. Robin Hobb writes books that are as close to perfection as any author is likely to get.

All fantasy novels attempt to create an entire other world for the reader to immerse themselves in, but (of the writers I've read so far) Robin Hobb is only rivaled by GRRM in terms of creativity, characters, world building and plot. All her POV characters live and breathe. They are nuanced, flawed individuals who develop and feel real. They don't always do what you want them to do and they mostly end up surprising you.

Looking back on Hobb's creations, it's hard to imagine a time before there wasn't a whole world of sentient ships sailing, battling and adventuring away in my head. Her books are truly epic and make bonkers ideas seem natural and believable.

This trilogy is an organic, thrilling masterpiece.

Content warning for rape & violence, but otherwise these books are something every fantasy fan should experience.
