Read about 50% of the book and read a summary, and I think I understood the general and the way the book is written in general. For me personally, it was a little difficult into the story, the writing was unique and a little complex (not surprising, considering it's a literary classic), but the premise was interesting and the story itself unfolded little by little uncovering a wonderful piece of literature. Couldn't finish though because I felt there were a lot of side stories that bored me, although some werr important to the story.

Highest possible praise: one of the most unique books I have ever read. Magic, religion, history, and comedy all blended together. A narrator that acts journalistic at times yet is capable of flowery descriptions, seems omniscient at times but also tells us about limits to his knowledge at others.

The afterword highlighted some details that made the book even more enjoyable.

I think I will read this again. I almost never say that.

Loved the scene where Margarita flies over the city it was my favourite part. Loved how silly and surrealistic the book is
