Taking .25 stars off because they changed the narrator and my heart is broken about it

I think the cookies might have been spiked with truth serum.
Jill and our other friends from South Cove have come a long way from A Guide Book For Murder and this throwback novella takes us back to where it all started: Jill’s fateful first visit to the town, her first brush with murder and a certain handsome detective and the amazing Miss Emily. So much fun!

This novella had a good enough introduction to the characters and the world they inhabit for me to want to read the first novel in the series, [b:Guidebook to Murder|21869865|Guidebook to Murder (A Tourist Trap Mystery, #1)|Lynn Cahoon|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1397395095l/21869865._SY75_.jpg|40162983].

I really loved this origin novella and getting to see how and why Jill came to South Cove. Plus since it was actually written recently the characters are fully fleshed even though they are just meeting. It's nice getting to see the people and the town for the first time through Jill's eyes filtered through the knowledge we have about them. Plus there is a tidbit dangled about Josh that I don't think we knew and am hoping that gets explored in the future.
