Despite a few editing errors, this is a well-written, fast-paced, suspenseful thriller. It reminded me a bit of a Dean Koontz book (a thriller with a supernatural element)--but one of his GOOD ones! Every scene was well written--I cringed at the painful scenes, felt Mark's total despair and loss, and even wanted to get myself a big hamburger when one was described with perfection!

I actually got this as a freebie from Amazon (I believe it's $0.99 now--more than worth it). There is a book 2 in the Mark Taylor series which I will read for sure.

I picked up this book expecting an undemanding read to fill in time while I was felling under the weather but I found it much more thought provoking than I'd anticipated. The science aspect of the fiction was fairly minimal but I did enjoy it.

I had always wondered what would really happen if you went around using "special" powers to help random people in the street.
I think this books gives a good account of what would happen.
There is also the question: "if you could see the future, would you? Should you?", which is not fully developed in this book, but i imagine it will be central to the rest of the series.

Really liked this--a thriller about a man falsely accused and tortured, and coming back to save the day anyway. The paranormal element is subtle enough to be intriguing.

I got interested in this book after reading the amazon reviews so I borrowed the Kindle edition from ebookfling.com. I am glad I did. The storytelling is great, and except for some slower parts it is a page-turner; for a first book, it was very well done. I expect more from the next books but overall I am pretty sure M.P. McDonald is an author to follow.

Mark Taylor was well done, but not perfect; however, the imperfections just made him more believable. I can't say the same thing about Jessie, a bit more work would have helped in explaining their relationship and her actions better.

Like other reviewers said the book needs more editing: there weren't many misspellings but there were a lot of problems with words missing or out of order, sentences mixed and so on.

If you can get over the lack of editing and the somehow magic aspect of the plot (which I enjoyed but judging from some reviews if may be a problem for some readers), you will like it. I gave it 4 stars but it is more like 3 1/2 only this is not an option.

A last mention: I really liked the book so I just bought the Kindle edition - it is lendable but sorry, I already lent it and as you may know Kindle books can only be lent once.
