This book would be 50 pages if you cut out all of the main characters whiny, pick me, inner dialogue. The last 70 pages are the only part with any distinguishable direction of plot. The way there’s no explanation as to why the girls can do the shit they do, you just have to accept it??? Either I need a reason how they do it or the main character is genuinely just schizophrenic.

This might be the weirdest book I’ve ever read. It’s The Secret History meets Heathers meets a Yorgos Lanthimos fever dream. And I liked it...I think. Maybe??

The last of Mona Awad’s books that I read. It would have probably made a bigger impact if it had been the first. The first half of the book was a bit of a slog, but I was riveted for the back half when things finally came together. I felt like maybe the book was too smart for me - I don’t fully understand the commentary.
