Why do you lie so much? And about the weirdest little things? my mother always asked me.
I don’t know, I always said. But I did know. It was very simple. Because it was a better story.

this was so crazy what the fuck. in honor of midnights coming out today, I'd say karma by taylor swift fits this book pretty well.

Now that I have a bit of time to think about this, I have decided to lower my rating because really the book was kind of forgettable.

To begin, the good things:
The story was fun, it was a mixture of "Midsommer," meets "Mean Girls" and it was a fairly easy read. I know a few reviews have said that it could be a bit confusing, but I think thats more to do with the authors writing rather than the story itself.

What I didn't like about this book:
The author's writing. I feel like she oftentimes tries to be too experimental which means that the story itself is lost. I nearly DNF'd at 30% because I thought it was a YA book with the way it was written. I find it hard to believe the characters are in college.

I really hated the protagonist. I can't remember her name, that is how forgettable she was. There also wasn't enough differentiation between the personalities of the Bunnies that I barely knew who was talking and when and to be honest, I didn't really care.

The juvenile references to sex. It often felt forced and clumsy and a bit awkward.

This has been tagged as horror but I don't really think there is all that much horror in the story.

So, would I recommend this book?
I know that it is really popular on TikTok and I would probably recommend it to someone who enjoys those recommendations. I probably wouldn't recommend it to someone who enjoys stories and writing that is a bit more grown up.

Overall, it was fine. I read it in a weekend so it wasn't too much of a chore to get through.

Honestly, this is the weirdest book I’ve ever read. I mostly liked it? But legitimately what did I just read? I just wish there was more explanation of “why” or “how” with everything that was happening, but that could be just be my preference.

I almost DNF’d this. I should have DNF’d. The ending tied together nice enough to give it a two star, but I would have been just fine not reading this.
