Another cold justice down! Right now two more to go. As always I enjoyed this. Though I must admit this was a little more confusing than others. There was a lot going on, but still we got some spice.
TW: sexual assault, rape
I also liked that this book brought to light seeking treatment for trauma. Mental health is important!
Haley was a badass as all the cold justice girls are! I loved seeing her relationship with Alex and Mallory and the baby.
I can’t recommend this series enough. I’ve already downloaded Cold Wicked Lies! Also I really want more info on Darby and Eban.

This is my first read by Toni Anderson and I do not regret one bit. This book is filled with action, adventure, mystory, and some pretty hot sex. Everything in this book felt so real and vivid. I could clearly picture out everything that happened, like a movie playing in my head while listening to this audiobook. With that being said, please note that this book is not suitable for all readers and there are many trigger warnings (see the end of this review). Please be wary before reading. This book felt different for me, it was very refreshing and such a page turner. I really enjoyed both Quentin and Haley. Both are such badasses and ready to take on the world but also are put through the ringer after being abducted. Yet, they stay so strong and ready to kick ass whenever the time comes. The narrator of this book is Eric G. Dove. This is the first audiobook I have listened to with him narrating and at first his voice irritated me for some reason. I am not entirely sure why, but it just did. After a while I got used to it and ended up really not minding his voice.
Overall, I really enjoyed this audiobook and would definitely pick up another book by Toni Anderson

FBI negotiator MMC and security specialist FMC hooked up for a ONS and find themselves in the middle of a terroist attack. He's a great character - smart, competent, compassionate, sexy - an all-rounder hero. She's brave, and strong in her way but she could kinder to herself at recognising her very justified moments of weakness. Their romance - from ONS to bonds forged in the midst of danger - was written well, and their reliance of each other adds to the building of feelings.
The dead wife trope is meh though, thankfully it isn't overwhelming (but still is a point of conflict), and he should've been honest from start. But it's good to see the process of them sorting out their own issues, feelings borne through circumstances vs real feelings. I really rooted for them , and the deserved HEA is great. Suspense wise, it's great, exciting, very gritty and detailed (perhaps a bit much). I also like the secondary characters, and I'm looking forward to their book

Perfectly paced, action packed and steamy! With a few cameos from some of my fave characters in this world (I'm looking at you Alex Parker!). Darby will break your heart and Eban will make you believe in good guys once more - I can't wait to see more of them.
There are some triggers that you may want to know about: sexual assault, rape, and assault by a family member. As usual the author deals with tricky and emotional storylines with sensitivity and great care.

Another top read
Looking forward to Ebans and Darbys book. I'm sure their story isn't finished yet

Well! Toni Anderson definitely had me on the edge of my seat with this book. COLDER THAN SIN is quite the enthralling read.
When FBI Negotiator Quentin Savage and private security company CEO Haley Cramer find themselves running from a luxury resort after a terrorist attack, it will take all their strength, wit and cunning to outmanoeuvre the enemy. And it’s not just a matter of running away, but figuring out who to turn to for help; professional alliances are nebulous in this part of the world, so they could just as easily be walking into the hands of the enemy.
I’ve read several of Anderson’s books but COLDER THAN SIN is hands down the grittiest I’ve read to date. At times incredibly raw and crude, it lifts the veneer off civilised society, exposing a dangerous underbelly.
In contrast to the violence, we also get a most marvellous romance between Quentin and Haley. This relationship starts at an incredibly stressful time but it’s also what helps them keep faith, support one another and do their utmost to get themselves to safety.
I really enjoyed getting to know Quentin and Haley. Both of them are damaged souls, trying to move on from tragic past events. Their exteriors may exude confidence but these two are hurting. Embarking on a relationship that requires barriers to be lowered and vulnerabilities to be exposed is plain hard work.
The satisfying conclusion delivers to us not only the instigators of the attack but a fulfilling romance. Highly recommended.
Note: There are many law enforcement acronyms used throughout the book. The author has kindly provided a list of them, but I only discovered them at the end. If, like me, you’re more likely to think of HRT as hormone replacement therapy than Hostage Rescue Team, do yourself a favour and keep the list at hand while reading.
