The story behind the book first:

Brother's Girlfriend: Hey, you should read this! *hands me the first volume of Scott Pilgrim*
Me: Okay. *takes book*
And then she was addicted beyond all belief.

Haha, anyways. I highly enjoy the smart, biting sarcasm and the bluntly beautiful comedy used in this series. It's just my style. It's a wonder that I haven't run off to Barnes and Noble to buy all of the five available volumes yet (being patient with the library for the first time in the last two years is painful, especially with a series as great as this) but I'm broke and therefore cannot buy them - yet.

I highly reccommend them. They're a great, quick read. But it's perhaps the best graphic novel series I've read since Death Note. And that's saying something.

I was very lucky to read Scott Pilgrim while they were first being published in black and white and they blew my mind. Not only did I grow up with Scott, I also started as an unlikable, self-centred, arrogant, smug, lazy nerd who happened to be the greatest fighter in his region. I've since given up that life, but even going back, I appreciate the colour versions even more and would argue it's now the best way to enjoy. The first book is slim and less funny than some of the others, but it sets the tone and damn well knows itself. It is insanely funny, sweet and unashamedly geeky.

If you have seen the movie and didn't really get it, I definitely recommend reading the books. They make it so much better.

Be jealous: got a signed copy for a friend of mine. We had a little chat and he was very nice.

Was kinda confused about the plotline but liked the story. It has a great style and a good sense of humor. Looking forward to read the rest of the series.
