Not the usual book I'd pick up, but my husband got it for me at Harvard's bookstore. It took me a minute to get into, as it started off slow and I wasn't sure what I was getting into. But it really picked up about halfway through the book with very unexpected turns. I was on the edge of my seat by the end of it and really couldn't believe the twist at the end.

Maggie MacKay has always felt something was different about her.  When she was younger she had outbursts that had people thinking that she had some thinking she had a gift, while others thought she should be shunned.  Years later Maggie is back and wants to figure out what truly happened.

Not everything as it seems with this book.  Maggie ends up uncovering more than she thought and it puts her life in danger.  I liked the parts where there was talk about old legends and the unfolding of the story.  This one was not what I expected based on the blurb, had it's moments but at times too much going on that it is was distracting.
