Hot Hex Boyfriend by Carly Bloom is a lot of fun & a great way to pass an October day.
Delia Merriweather doesn't believe she comes from a family of Witches. Delia doesn't believe she's the blue witch that will break a hex placed on the family decades ago. Max Halifax is from a magical family sent to make sure the Merriweather Hex is not broken.
Add aunts, a grandma, and a sassy best friend, and this read was a great distraction from reality.
Duel POVs, grumpy v sunshine, magical hijinks, and cozy fall vibes.

Hot Hex Boyfriend was a truly fun witchy romcom that had me smiling during the majority of the read. The pacing and plot started to feel a little clunky for me towards the end but it was overall just a fun light read. Nikki was an absolute stand out character for me. I would absolutely read more books in this world to find out what happened to more of the side characters. I happened to read this book on the first day of fall and it was a perfect read to transition into spooky season.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

This was a fun fall book that had plenty of witchy vibes to get you in the mood for spooky season. I enjoyed this book about Delia, who is the youngest member in a family full of reported witches, even though none of them actually have any witchy powers. Delia spends her days at a interior designers, and her new client is her next door neighbor Max. He himself is a witch, and has been spending his days cleaning out the house of his uncle who passed and ensuring that there aren't any household items with hexes on them getting out into the public. He also has an ulterior motive, keeping an eye on Delia as he knows the truth about her witchy powers.

I thought the concept of the book was very interesting, if not completely convoluted, but I felt it lacked a bit in execution. At times I felt like it dragged quite a bit and others it sped through. It felt like we finally understood all about the different types of witches and the whole hexing concept and the book was rushing through and just ended quite abruptly. If the pacing was better, I think this book would have been more successful. In saying that, I did still enjoy reading and appreciated it during this season of reading for me. 3.25/5 Stars.

Magic, witches, and familiars—the makings of all great witchy books. This book is perfect for readers looking for a cozy, spooky, witchy Halloween read similar to The Ex Hex by Rachel Hawkins.

I thought that the story flowed really well, and I really enjoyed the family dynamic between Delia Merriweather and the rest of the Merriweather family and between Max and his brother.

My absolute highlight of the book? Nikki, the magical black cat imp familiar. I absolutely adored his character and would love a follow up book focused on his story.
