Wow what an amazing story for Declan and Sammy, as I devoured this story. This is a wonderful read that starts with theirs history and the stories behind them. This is a soooo good that I couldn’t get enough of this piece. This story pulls you in and has you holding on tight tell the very ending.

Dnf @ 20%, I feel like if a book hasn’t hooked me by this point then it’s just not going to happen.
I liked the premise of this book, but there was a lot going on in the beginning. Maybe more of it would’ve been a bit easier to follow or made more sense had I read the previous books. I think it really needed an editor, there was some repetition as well.
There’s also a TON of inner thoughts/monologue. And the conversations that do occur are a bit awkward and at times use a lot of exclamation points. And I just didn’t feel the connection at all between the characters.
Finally, if you’re going to write a book set in Boston, at least get the neighborhoods correct. It’s not little Italy it’s the north end and the south end is not the same as south Boston.

This was my first A.N. Stauber book and I'm definitely HOOKED!
Truthfully, if you don't love a damaged mafia man whos posessive over his woman then idk if we can be friends lol.
The IMMEDIATE chemistry and attraction between Sammy and Declan was off the charts! However, they're both so damaged by the past, for past events they blame themselves for, that its impossible for either of them to move on. I loved every minute of this story and honestly wanted SO much more (not saying she didn't give me enough but it was just SO good I wanted more). The banter, not just between the two main characters but everyone in the story is just perfect. My heart broke for the both of them but I'm glad they were able to somewhat become whole again.
If you're not a dark romance reader I suggest you read the trigger warnings.

Declan and Sammy oh how I loved their story. They both share tradegy. What started out as a weekend together became so much more for them feeling grow. I love when they both have character growth and letting each other in to feel for one another. He a alpha and the tattoo he got talk about swoon. I found there story to be gripping but also heartwarming seeing them get through their tragedy and find love again.
