Read this on Scribd after seeing it on Panels.org, I'm trying to get more into reading more obscure graphic novels, and this is certainly that. Not sure exactly what I was expecting, but this is a really nice, peaceful, slightly melancholy collection of comics featuring Woodsman Pete, a loner woodsman living in his house talking to his taxidermy, and Paul Bunyan, who's alone too, though not by choice. It was very quiet, very sweet, and a little sad. The art was absolutely beautiful-- all black and white and minimalist. It seemed like a meditation on being alone, and the sort of melancholy introspection that can come from isolation, but also the complete freedom (one page Woodsman Pete strips naked and dances around in his cabin.) It took me maybe 20-30 minutes to read. I recommend it, it doesn't have a lot of plot, but it's very quiet and thoughtful, and would be good for a morning read in the winter, sitting with coffee in the quiet.
