Love this author, but I had a really hard time getting into this book. Too much left unsaid, and the flow was sketchy. I will stick with some of her other books.

I read this book because my 13 year old daughter read it an wanted me to. It wasn't a great book for me but I think it was perfect for someone my daughters age.

I had wanted to read this book for a long time and I'm happy I finally did. It was a cute, typical, predictable story about falling in love with your best friend's boyfriend and it was exactly what I needed. I needed something that I wouldn't have to think about too hard or concentrate on. Something that I could read through in a day and feel satisfied and that is exactly what I got. There were no bells and whistles, just straightforward romance and angst. My one complaint is the style the book was written in. There was something off-putting about it, but besides that not a bad read at all.

Best friends Lani and Erin couldn't be more different. Lani's reserved and thoughtful; Erin's bubbly and outgoing. Lani likes to do her own thing; Erin prefers an entourage. There's no possible way they could be interested in the same guy.
So when Erin starts dating Jason, Lani can't believe she feels such a deep connection with him--and it may be mutual. The more Lani fights it, the more certain she feels that it's her fate to be with Jason. But what do you do when the love of your life is the one person you can't have?........

This book look my heart and led me into a different world filled with love hate and great friendships. i found the relationships between all the characters pretty interesting! i could relate to the book in a lot of things like Bianca and Marnie like those two girls who always have a nasty thing to say when you walk past them or the people who don't say anything to you.the story line of this book was pretty interesting and how one little secret could ruin your life, but when your problem is solved you learn a lot from it! I'm in love with this book! i want to give it a big hug!!!!!!

The Characters

Lani:
To me Lani is a nice girl who is confident and helpful. She has a major love of saving the planet which i find pretty interesting. Shes not so romantic as she has never had a boyfriend but she gets along with guys very well. When Lani meets Jason she changes a lot. She learns to expect the unexpected and not worry too much about what will happen next.

Erin:
Erin is an extremely confident girl who likes to help and cheer people up but she can get shy and nervous. i love how Erin tutors for younger kids and how much she loves it. at some point in the book i start to hate her but i cant give out a spoiler, you'll have to read it to find out.

Jason:
I see Jason as a very sweet guy who never gives up on what he wants and keeps trying. i love how helpful he is and how he sees problems as something you can solve not something you cant.i love the way he treats Lani and how much he cares about her.<3

Blake:
Blake is a very sweet guy who cheers people on and likes to plant jokes on people to make them laugh. i am in love with Blake even though hes gay because he is so sweet! i love how he acts around people and makes people happy he treats all his friends well and took the biggest risk in his life, i cant tell you what that is cause it will be a spoiler.

this is a great book which teaches you a live lesson i would recommend to all!

I found this to be an incredibly unpleasant book. The only people I liked in it were Blake and Connor. Lani was whiny and Erin was a drama queen. I didn't understand why Jason was such a catch, but I did like the hot air balloonpart.
