I had really mixed feelings surrounding this particular book. In the first instance, I was drawn to the title as I felt it was expressing something worth having a conversation about - the idea that life has this complexity that doesn’t always make sense! While I admired the author’s candidness and relatability, I found that I disagreed with the psychiatrist more often than I agreed with her - which isn’t a huge problem but for some reason didn’t sit particularly comfortably with me. I enjoyed the short essays towards the end of the text and I can see why a text like this would resonate with a particular audience, but sadly not quite the right fit for me.
