This is the final book in this character arc trilogy. This time we follow Diego as he joins the Krewe to protect his ex-wife.
Great setting, loved the characters.

this was an excellent entry in the series and in some ways reminded me of the British village mysteries (Christie being probably the most well known author in that subgenre). I liked the second chance romance, the twists (well I'm not surprised by a lot of twists but, again, I read a lot and I'm very familiar with Christie. but they're well executed in this story), and the academia aspect. it was a good read and I'd recommend for sure.
So why not five stars? A few reasons, but mostly because of the supporting characters. some seemed like cardboard cutouts and the interesting ones were under utilized. some choppy plotting and writing that I could excuse in an author I didn't know was capable of better. other minor nitpicky stuff. still a fun read and still a recommend.
