I found the ending unsatisfying, but necessary to leave the series open to more installments

I fell in love with this series the moment that I picked up the first book. Whether it was the magic, the characters, or the plot, this series was amazing. Many trilogies experience a downfall in quality as they go on, but this one improved over time. I personally think that the ending was fantastic and finished with a satisfying ending that wrapped up every loose thread that I can think of. I still cannot believe the strength that Alina, Mal, and the other Grisha had to have to make it through what they did. I loved the relationship between Alina and Mal, and while I was very upset with what happened on the Fold between them at the end, I am happy with their endings. I am also very happy about the ending given to Nikolai. I loved his character from the moment he was introduced and am glad that he finally got what he deserved. I can't wait to read more from Leigh Bardugo in the Grishaverse world!

This one took me so long to finish reading because the show came out (so I binged it, of course) AND I was dealing with the symptoms from Moderna dose #2, but I FINALLY FINISHED THE TRILOGY.

Overall, this and Siege and Storm were clearly the best written novels of the series. I'm not entirely happy with how it ended just because it's so, so typical, but I knew that going into the trilogy that this wasn't Bardugo's best work. That being said, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and delving into this world. I can't wait to start reading Six of Crows!
