the people in this book are so twisted and just weird

the only one i found likeable was Jake, who had clear and good intentions and luckily got his justice at the end. the others were just unlikeable and chaotic, not in the funny way.

it was a very shocking book with mystery & drama

"it was so nice throwing big parties"
"and therein lies the issues, friends don't try to trick you, get you on the phone and mindtwist you"
- this is why we can't have nice things, taylor swift

Soooooo this was good. I will say it had a ton ton ton of layers literally everyone was lying about something. There was also like a character that was never found at the end which kind of bothers me but other than that very good book.

Nothing wrong with the book, just not the right one for me right now. It is definitely a YA style story, and not in a bad way, just in a way that is very focused on the teens and kind of insular so far (like very teen relationship drama and angst, party problems, College/graduation worries). I skimmed a bit and I think this book will have a lot of important points to bring up around sexual assault, stalking, maybe even rape, and in a way that gives a new perspective/POV not typically given. So I bet it's a good read. It's just too 'YA' for my reading mood right now!

I devoured it in one afternoon. It took me a while to get into the story, or more precisely, feel convinced by the characters, but once that was sorted, it was a race to the end as I wanted to know the answers to all the questions being raised in the book.

This felt really formulaic and I was really bored.

4.75 stars! i realllly enjoyed this book! i thought it was so well done. i’ve read the author’s previous ya mystery and i really liked it as well. i would say this one is my favorite though. something i’ve noticed is that the characters are really what shine in her books. the characters in this were so raw and real and FLAWED and human and it was all very well done and very emotional at times and i’m still thinking about it. i also loved the ending, like the actual resolution after all the reveals at the end of everything. i thought it was very well done and all the characters had great arcs and i loved seeing it. this book talks about some really serious issues regarding sexual assault, and i thought it was handled with so much care, and i loved to see that and all the conversations around it.
