Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an electronic ARC of Funny People by Emily Henry.
If you have read any of Emily Henry’s books then you will love this one. Daphne’s fiancé leaves her for his best friend Petra and she finds herself living with Petra’s ex boyfriend. If you are a fan of roommates, friends to lovers and opposites attract, this will be the perfect book for you.
I did end up really liking this book, but for some reason it did take awhile for me to get into the book. Probably a me problem lol, but once I got about 30% into it, I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next.

Really enjoyed this leisure-read, typical for Emily Henry! Likable characters, gave me Jess and Nick from “New Girl” vibes

**Review of *Funny Story* by Emily Henry**
**Rating**: ★★★★.5
Emily Henry’s *Funny Story* is a masterful blend of humor, heartache, and the complexities of human connection. I chose this to be my first foray into the world of Emily Henry and I definitely picked a winner.
The story follows Daphne and Miles, two opposites thrown together under unexpected and awkward circumstances: the aftermath of their respective breakups.
What sets *Funny Story* apart is Henry's keen ability to balance humor and emotion. The banter between Daphne and Miles is razor-sharp and laugh-out-loud funny, but the novel also delves into deeper themes of heartbreak, self-discovery, and the courage it takes to start over. Your heart becomes invested in the journey Daphne and Miles take to heal from their pasts and learn to love with trust and openness.
Ultimately, *Funny Story* is about the transformative power of humor and connection, even in the face of life’s messiest moments. Fans of contemporary romance and heartfelt comedy will find this novel a joy to read.
**Verdict**: A charming, laugh-filled journey with emotional resonance, *Funny Story* is a must-read for anyone who enjoys romance with depth and wit.
