This was good! I really enjoyed the way Nixon and Mac ended up together. I loved the fact that we could see more of both characters and that the whole crew was present as well.
It was nice to see Nixon interact more witht he other characters since he wasn't as present in previous books, and it was also nice to see other side characters being more there (I loved Leo!).
Mac was honestly not as I expected her to be. We haven't seen much of her in the latest books even though she is quite a huge side characters in all of them, she was never really present though, so it was nice to get a view of her life.
It did feel like some parts were a bit rushed, but it is still a solid 4 star reading. Can't wait to read about Callen and discover is secret love interest!

Kenzie and Nixon were just perfect together. He was so caring and sweet, and though they were initially a 'fake couple/relationship', they really never were. The chemistry between them was undeniable.
This author's romance novels are all feel good stories, that leave you all warm and fuzzy. MMCs who worship the women they adore, and women with strong personalities who don't take the men for granted. There's also an amazing friend group, who are a lot of fun.
Can't wait for the next one!

NIXON SINCLAIR....I am swooning! Like he is so perfect and sweet, I couldn't get enough! And he's been crushing on Kenzie since they were young...can he be any more gone for her?! I love him and Kenzie and I'm always down for fake dating!! After being friends for years, I love seeing the tension and chemistry between these two! Add in some spicy lessons and it was HOT. Nixon did not shy away from asking for what he wanted and I love the confidence that Kenzie learned to have while she was with him. I am excited for the next book in this series and will be immediately adding all of Bella's books to my TBR

This was such a great start to this new series from Bella Matthews. I’m a massive fan of her inter-connected series which are all from the same world and love that we’re now getting next gen stories.
I loved learning more about these two as they’ve both been pretty private from what we had seen in other books. It was great to see the dynamic change from long time friends (which might have had some feelings from one side), turned to fake dating couple, turned to lovers.
Nixon was the loveable, protective male lead we probably all expected to see from Declan’s son. The way he immediately went into protective mode when he sensed the Kenzie was uncomfortable with her co-worker had me feeling some kind of way! Seeing the character development for Kenzie was great, she’s been through some hard times and had to find a way to survive. I loved that slowly she let Nixon break down those walls.
Can’t wait for the next one, all the little teasers that are starting to come out have me so ready for it!

I was annoyed we didn’t get Kenzie in the last series but this book was so good and delicious she was worth the wait. Kenzie and Nix were adorable. I enjoyed the change in Uber protectiveness that their families usually have and the calm(ish) way they welcomed the couple.

This book was unfortunately not for me. The main characters were cute together and there were some swoony scenes/quotes. However, the book felt rushed. It felt like many “standard” romance book scenes thrown together. The characters lacked depth and development. There wasn’t much tension. Emotions and feelings etc were simply stated rather than conveyed or described through the writing. It was difficult to keep track of all the supporting characters.

I loved Nixon and Kenzie! She is back in town after being away for medical school. Now she is very focused on her career and doesn't have time to be in a relationship. However, there are some heavier reasons as to why she won't allow herself to fall in love with someone. Nixon, a pro hockey player has been trying to put some distance from his family name and the expectations. He, like Kenzie, has his top priority, which is hockey. To get Kenzie out of an uncomfortable situation, Nixon claims to be her boyfriend. Let the fake dating and spicy lessons begin! 🤭
Nixon is so swoony! They had amazing chemistry and once Kenzie came out of her shell a bit, their banter was top tier. Nixon was sweet, protective and possessive. I love that nothing ever really changed for him in the long run, from first crush to falling so hard for her. 🥰 Kenzie also grew so much in this story. She learned to not only ask for what she wanted and needed, but to not live life in fear. That being content with life is not actually living life. Nixon helped and loved her through her healing and I loved that for her. And of course, being back with the family and all their crazy text messages was hilarious as always. 🩷
