I have been not so patiently waiting for this to drop and I dove right in the second my ARC hit my inbox. Tempting is a second generation story that can be read as a standalone but it’s so fun reading through the backlog for the story and vibes! Kenzie and Nixon were perfect for each other. Both focused heavily on their careers leaving them a bit closed off in the beginning. A few spicy lessons later and we get to see them open up! I seriously love the town and the people Bella has brought to life in these books! And the text threads will forever be my favorite part of any book but especially this world! Now back to the very beginning again for a reread as I wait for the next to drop!

This book wasn’t as interesting. It irked me the mention of purchasing a plantation and restoring it to its “former glory”.  Like WTF was that necessary

Bella’s books are always my favorite. I definitely did not see Nixon coming for Kenzie but they just fit together so well.

I sure didn’t think Nixon had the sminky side hidden in him. Your in for a treat with this one.

Bella Matthews has delivered yet another swoon-worthy, spicy sports romance in Tempting, the first book in her highly anticipated new series. Fans of her previous works will be thrilled to dive into the world of hockey’s golden boy, Nixon Sinclair, and his irresistible fake-dating escapade.

The story grabs you from the start with its fun, flirty premise—a little white lie that spirals into an intoxicating mix of passion, humor, and heartfelt emotion. Nixon is the kind of leading man readers dream of: confident, fiercely protective, and utterly devoted in ways that make you melt. Pair that with his sizzling chemistry with the heroine, and you have a romance that feels electric on every page.

Matthews’ writing shines with her trademark wit and emotional depth. The banter is sharp, the spice is on point, and the intimate moments? Let’s just say they’re toe-curling and then some. But beyond the heat, there’s a genuine connection between the characters that makes you root for them—through all their sneaking around and reluctant realizations about what they truly want.

For fans of her previous series, Tempting also offers the joy of seeing beloved characters’ children step into their own spotlight. It’s a wonderful blend of nostalgia and fresh excitement, perfectly setting the stage for what promises to be an unmissable series.

If you’re into fake dating tropes, steamy sports romances, or just love a good “teach me” storyline with a hero who checks every box, Tempting is a must-read. Highly recommended!

I loved all the families and side characters although it was ridiculous to keep track of, and I gave up (also there was a weird timeline issue) but the story was so promising, and parts were great but the pacing was all over the show and some bits seemed really shoehorned in out of nowhere and others got lots of lead up and then all over with a strangely timed splash.
I’ll read another but I hope it’s gone through more rounds of drafts
