This volume has a much slower pace than the previous issues. It’s mostly falling action with a bit of setup for the next major story arc. There’s some major resolutions from the events of volume 5 right at the beginning, but, for the most part, this book isn’t afraid of taking the time to let the characters and us the readers breathe. All told, it’s a decent entry in the Beastars story.

Devo ancora capire se Juno mi piace o meno come personaggio, ma in generale la trama funziona bene anche grazie a lei, quindi nulla da ridire da questo punto di vista.

About 90% of this manga was just set up for the next one. Let's break down everything that went wrong by order of appearance.

Juno is the worst character. She just exists to create pointless drama in the story. The author, for a reason I can't even begin to imagine, decided to add a love triangle between three characters (Haru, Legoshi and Juno), but because the manga makes very clear that Haru/Legoshi are endgame every single of Juno's attempts to win over Legoshi are fruitless. So it's a lot of wasted time.

Her entire personally is based on two factors: her crush on Legoshi and her desire to be popular in order to give carnivores the "respect that they deserve". But WHY?! Carnivores are already respected, in the previous manga we even learn that the mayor of their two is a lion. Juno's character has no depth because the two elements that composed it make no sense.

Speaking of things that make no sense, the author decided to add some stuff about the "biological origins of cats and dogs" that was clearly not thought out. Apparently, 100 before the events of the magna there was a global war that lasted only a year, but somehow cats and dogs were created after it. But HOW!?

Domestications is a process that takes several thousand years. Not only that, but to get the dog and cat breeds that we have now there needs to be a lot of selective breeding. Who did the domestication, and all the inbreeding? The manga mentions that dogs were made to be smart, that doesn't answer any questions. What about all the other domesticated animals?

There's a scene with the characters as 7 year olds, but they talk like they are 50. I don't like the character of Jack, he's just boring. He's not as annoying as Juno, but all of the chapters he's in are a drag.

Lastly, for the love of me I can't understand the reasoning behind why a bunch of Yakuza lions would choose Louis, a 18 year old deer, as their boss. It has to do with him being a candidate for Beastar, but it still make no sense.

Legoshi and friends deal with the post festival issues. More is discovered about the happenings of the school and possibly who will be the next Beastar. I was definitely not expecting one or two of those curveball twists.
