I have no idea why I waited this long to read the last book in this series. I always have that with last books. Finishing the last book is never the problem. Starting the last book is. As if I know that when I start, the journey will be over in a couple of hours. However, I was looking for an easy read (so I can continue Bonds that Tie tomorrow) and I saw this one was still in my TBR cart. I decided this was the perfect moment to finally finish it.

Since all the relationship-building and character-growth has been done in the previous three books, this book is quite action-packed. Our characters know what they have to know. They gained the powers to do what they have to do. They now have to find a way to best the enemy. And since the enemy has been doing this for a long time and has enslaved quite a lot of people without them knowing about it, it's not that easy.

And that's exactly what I loved about this finale. Although our characters have powers, their enemies have powers too. They can't just use brute force. They can't just storm in and do what they have to do. They have to play it smart. During this book they come up with all kinds of tactics and scenarios, some slightly more successful than others and it takes a while to find the right one that eventually does the job. And that one is also about intelligence and not brute force.

I also love the message in this book. I won't say this series is that deep, because it isn't, but I like how our heroine realizes in this book that people are capable of a lot more if others believe in them. And sometimes taking care of your enemy means finding others feeling the same and empowering them to help you out. And although I'm usually not a great fan of happily ever after chapters, I really enjoyed this one! It was the perfect kind of closure for this story and these characters.

This series was too long. It was enjoyable enough if you seriously suspend disbelief. Like, seriously.

While I got through the first few books fast enough, the final ones seemed to drag on forever and ever and ever.

Deathly Delinquency is the fourth and final installment of the Gang of Ghouls series. Even though the rating has been the same for each and every book, this one was probably my favorite. I think it's mostly because I was finally starting to get some answers. Maybe even more action in some ways where I would have been bored.

Long story short, I just ended up liking the heck out of this book. The gang was getting closer and closer to getting rid of their enemies and saving everyone under their clutches. They definitely had some ups and downs along the way but eventually they made their overall goal. Which, yes, made me extremely happy.

In the end, I'm sort of glad that I stuck with this series. Even though I didn't get all the answers I really wanted, it was still entertaining till the very last page. I'm glad that they are finally a family and living their HEA out.
