Not surprisingly, Emily Henry made me fall in love with another of her books. I truly loved Funny Story, I deeply relate to Daphne and except the fiancé-fiasco we basically share the same life story. Henry truly moved my heart with this one, and even helped me heal pieces of my upbringing with this story. Most importantly, it has reminded me to not run away when life gets messy and to be willing to experience the surprises life might throw at you

Gosh! Emily Henry hits again! This is only my second Emily Henry book, and I am starting to add her to my "must read all of this author's book" list. The characters have dimensions and things are not completely perfect in the end, just like reality, but enough pinches of a happy ending for the characters to feel satisfied with the emotional roller coaster ride Henry took us on. I had tears when I thought
Miles was spending the entire time he was missing helping Petra move. The pulls on my heart strings 😭

A cute story and I loved the dialogue but
Daphne and Miles had nothing in common and tbh I can't see them lasting

DID NOT FINISH: 42%

As one other reviewer said, it feels very "millenial." This book grabs its comedy from a lot of references to things, which can be done well at times but I feel as though Henry did not execute it well. In addition, this book tries to survive off banter (which I notice a lot of newer books try to do that) and it features a bit of a fake dating trope. Personally I despise that trope. This book was not for me. I think the whole "getting back at your ex" concept is just extremely immature and that is what a lot of this book was. I do not personally care if Miles and Daphne end up getting together, hence why I dnfed it.
I really loved Book Lovers, that was a five star read but I did not enjoy this or Happy Place.

Oh. My. Gosh! Best Emily Henry book I've read to date (the only one I have left to read is Happy Place. I related a little toooooo much to Daphne and I think that's also part of why I love this book so much. I was in love with Miles, and this book did not suffer from the typical pacing issues Henry usually does. There were even mentions of Portugal (my family's home country). I have the same anxious attachment style as Daphne I fear. It felt like she wrote this one for me. Brava queen Emily Henry, I finally completely understand the hype.

5/5 stars
