It took me a while to get into it but by the end it's just a really solid, if by the numbers, rom-com. I think the ending especially didn't need to feel so neat but it didn't take away from the main thing which was how real the leads and their relationship felt

The same universe that dispassionately takes things away can bring you things you weren’t imaginative enough to dream up

Except for the third act conflict or whatever the hell that storm was, I loved this book! Loved Miles and Daphne and Ashleigh and Julia! Like literally I would have been content with more happy moments rather than a conflict imo. Nevertheless it was fun!

“You could be a three-course balanced meal with a cute little Hostess dessert, and it wouldn’t matter. He knows you, and the lunch he doesn’t know is going to catch his eye.”

Not as life-changing as everyone made it out to be, but still a charming and light-hearted read.
I would have loved to see more moments and conversations between Daphne and Miles, and the ending wasn’t the strongest point for me.

That said, the book is easy to get through and has its funny, sweet moments.
