Aspects I Enjoyed:
  • Cade’s character. I loved his knowledge of history and his rise in leadership and bravery.
  • The remnants. I found myself very intrigued and looking  these up as I read!
  • The hockey girls! Especially Amber! “You don’t poke mama bear” was my favorite quote.
  • Felt very fast paced, a super quick read for me!

Aspects I Wanted More of:
  • While I thought Cade’s character was well developed, I wish there had been more with the others. There were a lot of fantastic characters and I felt like some of the action scenes could have been replaced or more could have been added  learning backstories of the contenders.
  • There was a lot of action and though it is a story of survival, there was a lot unknown and wish more had been divulged throughout.
  • It felt like the book focused mostly on fighting dinosaurs and I felt like there could have been more interactions with people, different species, or more interactions involving the remnants.
  • I wish it had more details on the skills and knowledge of the contenders or why they were chosen.

This book was my first read from Taran and I would be open to reading his other popular series.
