DID NOT FINISH: 78%

Was due in at the library and I just could not get myself to finish it. It wasn’t bad- insightful writing about life, interesting style. Just… not the right time for it. Was very slow and also all the characters had off-putting vibes.

August 3rd: This is a 4/4.5. Just as wild on reread except I took a bit more time to process the information regarding Justine and Kurt, honing in on how literally everything is a power dynamic with gender infused. I also read this as an indictment of the privilege we offer artists, particularly those that are male, to be awful people who produce mediocre to great work as well as a treatise on the messy nature of both death of the author and biographical analytical lenses.

May 8th (3 stars): I now REALLY want to read the Outline trilogy.
