Honestly I don’t even know what to score this, all I know is I don’t like it

Gaby is my ENEMY. I just know shes not a girl’s girl. Her hatred and bitchy behaviour for Liz immediately was honestly so immature 😭 Her humour is very homophobic/transphobic and she helps push forward toxic masculinity towards the men around her. The attempts to make her layered with insecurities about her body feels weak. Don’t get me started on “one of the boys” stuff 😭😭😭😭

Gaby’s relationship with Eli is very strange? One of the band members was like “are you sure you two arent lying about being siblings?” aka implying incestuous vibes. I dunno why someone would just say that out of the blue if theres nothing to merit it. Also the nickname of Flabby.. If you’re that close to your brother don’t you think he’d realise that your body image is a sensitive issue?
The part that revealed that Eli insulted Gaby to his friends when he was drunk, and traumatising her, was handled poorly. She forgave him just because hes her brother? (and the people he was insulting her were childhood friends) That doesn’t justify asshole behaviour nor allow him to get away with it.

Sacha is fine i guess.
Sacha and Gaby’s chemistry felt platonic throughout, especially since it wasn’t that different to the relationships she has with the other men in the book.

I feel like Mariana Zapata had a lot of internalised misogyny that she needed to sort out because it makes her earlier books unbearable for me. Once again, you could be enjoying a book and suddenly slut shaming / shaming of other women starts. Like can we stop 😭😭

I don’t think there was a strong plot at all in this one. Theyre just touring and making poop/fart/sex jokes. It’s just not funny lmao.

This book is my NEMESIS.
