One of those books where it hurts the whole way through to read, but where you can only hope that you’d have that much humanity in such a situation. I hope Dwight Towers made it home, and Moira got to have a nice, long visit.

Quite well written. If you’ve ever wondered how your grandparents parents would have taken the end of the world. This is a good picture. They took it almost absurdly stoically

I saw the movie years ago and never forgot it. I thought it was about time I read the book. Very depressing, as I knew it would be, but surprisingly a lot different than the 2000 remake. I'm glad I finally read the book, even if it was dark and heavy.

It’s amazing how a book with such a fascinating and exciting topic can be so dull. I think I would’ve liked this more if it was very character driven

The human race is on the way out, the last people alive on earth measure out their days in Australia.
Despite the inevitable conclusion, this post-apocalyptic novel isn't gloomy and I found it a very enjoyable and touching read.
