After reading and enjoying The Sergeant by Christa Tomlinson, I knew that I wanted to read more from her. So when I got the chance to read Bad Boys Need Love Too, I knew I had to read it. I have become a huge M/M fan over the last couple years, and Christa Tomlinson's books are ones that I have really enjoyed. I think that if you are new to the genre or looking for a good M/M story, that you should definitely give her a shot.

When Joseph Naderi needs some work done on his bike, he takes it to a shop recommended to him by a friend. He gets off on the wrong foot with the owner, but the attraction between them is instant. Gage Mason wasn't looking for anything serious, but he couldn't help but feel drawn to Joseph. Joseph and Gage start things off casual, but before long Joseph is no longer happy with sharing Gage. Gage doesn't do relationships though, and refuses to tie himself down to one person after things from his past. But when Joseph tells him that he either needs to commit or walk away, can Gage let him go or will he take a chance on something more?

I really liked Gage and Joseph. I will admit that Gage frustrated me at times though. He was a sexy alpha used to getting what he wanted with little to no effort. He had made things happen for himself after a tough childhood, and I liked how successful he was all on his own. But he was also a jerk at times and to start with he didn't treat Joseph that well. I could see what was going on in his head, but yet I wanted him to get his act together faster. Joseph was a great guy and he was just looking for a relationship with the guy that made him happy. I felt like he put up with a lot from Gage, and he even let him get away with a few things that he shouldn't have in my opinion. But I could also see the feelings that he had for Gage, and I really did feel like they belonged together so I found myself rooting for them despite any of the bad stuff. These two had a ton of chemistry and attraction from the very start, and that was never the issue between them. But I did enjoy seeing them learn to support one another and watching as their emotional connection continued to deepen as well.

The one thing that I will say about both books I have read of Christa Tomlinson's now is that they were both really long and had a lot of sex to them. Neither is a problem for me, but I can see how some people will not enjoy that as much as I do. Honestly in both books, they could have easily been shortened and some things left completely out and it would have been fine. But I do enjoy getting to see more of these characters and find myself enjoying the extra pages. I think that Christa is a great writer, and I think that she does the steamy stuff really well. Her books are hot, and that makes all the sex in them more than worth it! I think if you are looking for a super sexy and steamy M/M read that you should definitely give this one a shot as well as others by Christa Tomlinson as well. I can't wait to see what she writes next, and I really would love to see more from some of the secondary characters in this book especially Max.

If you want sex this has it.

That could have been 100 pages shorter with half as many sex scenes. Don’t get me wrong, I love sex in my stories and between the sex was a decent story with character growth and chemistry. However it got repetitious and I found myself skimming.

Holy smokes! I had no idea what to expect when I got this book. As a huge fan of the M/M genre I had really high hopes for it and Christa Tomlinson did not disappoint. From the very first chapter I was hooked! I could not put it down. I read this book in one day! I fell in love with both Gage and Joseph! Even if I did want to slap Gage around a few times! The journey that these two travel on will keep you on your toes from beginning to end and there are quite a few surprises mixed in that I did not see coming! Christa did an amazing job with this book and I could feel the emotions coming off the pages. My heart ached for Joseph and what he had to go through both with Gage and his family. And poor Gage... his past had me in tears at some points. While you have the emotional side of the book I do need to address the fact that this book has some of the hottest scenes I think I have ever read! This is a MUST read!

This is my second book by Christa Tomlinson. I didn't love the first one I read, The Sergeant, but liked it enough to give this one a read. Sadly, a lot of the problems I had with the other book are the same issues I have with this one as well.

I liked a lot of the dialogue. I didn't like that I had to wade through a lot of sex and pointless plot points to get to it. Editing out 50, or hell, even 100 pages would have made this a much stronger story. It seemed like a case of too many ideas crammed into one book, most of which are abandoned or solved in silly, quick fixes.
Spoiler Joseph's ex, Ashton. You get two or three mentions of Joseph ignoring texts. Then the Ex shows up, just to have Gage growl and send him off. Poof, he's never mentioned again nor reappears. Joseph's family drama. His family is mentioned near the very start, that he doesn't speak to his father and his brother is having issues about college. Then they disappear for a few hundred pages only to show back up to have a neat little bow tied on for a happy ending. Heather - same thing. Appears once early on so she can be brought up briefly later on for something to fight about. Montoya. First he's a possible love interest/threat. Then a maybe friend turned evil motorcycle accident plotter. Montoya just seemed to be whatever was needed at the time to cause tension and arguments. Most of Joseph and Gage's fight fall into this mess as well.
It just seemed like a lot of manufactured drama. Writing a fight with no point other than to make the characters fight. There was also too much sex. So much that I just started skimming past it all. If Gage and Joesph decide to have a marathon sex session, you have to sit there and suffer through back to back to back sex scenes. With more sex a not long after that. Yes, sex is important to the story. Its a big part of Gage's character. However, you can get the importance of it across without so much smut filler.

The layout of the book was also very odd, thankfully (and oddly) it gets a lot better in the last third or so of the book and it reads a lot smoother. PoV changes, scene changes, and the passing of time are denoted either by a new chapter, by a break with the first lines of the new section in italics, or by a break with some ****'s. The problem is that these breaks are not used in any consistent way. Sometimes the PoV changes several times in one chapter. Sometimes one scene spans over several chapters. Other times several scenes are stuck in one chapter together. There was even one part where there was one scene that stopped in the middle, and the following chapter was about a page and a half long that was the end of the previous scene. It makes reading really choppy and strange. There are over 60 chapters and I have no idea why. Edit out all the random plot tangents, condense some chapters together and fix the consistency of the breaks and it would go a long way to making for a smoother read.

Deciding to skim past all the sex is probably why I ended up liking this book more. The story was good, and different from everything I've read before. There were quite a few sections of really strong dialogue and the very basics of the plot were interesting. I liked Gage a lot more than Joseph, who I found more than a tad predictable and boring. Gage was complex, and interesting and a complete manipulative bastard - and that made him fun to read.

Books for Max and Nate are due out, but I think two tries are enough. I will probably pass on the follow up titles in this series. Well, unless the page counts are un 300. Then maybe I'll check them out.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved Joseph and Gage. They both need to work through their own issues, Joseph with trusting a “bad boy” and Gage with believing he can love again. This story was long, but did really well at showing how they both had to grow to get their HEA. There was a LOT of sex, but it was HOT! They both showed the other how they felt way before they ever voiced it.

This book is one of my guilty pleasures. Its not the best thing out there but for some reason I keep going back to it. The heat between Gage and Joseph is palpable. And i appreciate that Joseph is as understanding as he can be until he cant anymore. There is no major blow up. There is no cheating. Its 2 adults who love eachother, are too scared to admit it for fear of being hurt (or hurting the other), and then talking and coming to terms with everything.

I will say I felt like the story ended about 3/4 of the way through and then all the sudden there was even more story and I was like...arent we rehashing stuff? Very odd but good.

To begin with, I thought this was a book that was going to be tough to read the whole way through. Gage was a jerk and I thought the whole book would be him dicking around Joseph. But after the first 20% or so, you got to see the humanity of Gage and how Joseph was being pulled in two different directions and I was hooked. I literally couldn't put this down and my sleep suffered as a result! The sex was incredibly hot, and I loved seeing Gage and Joseph fall head over heels for each other. There were a few issues I had, e.g. Gage being a dick, but the rest was so enjoyable that I couldn't help but give it five stars! I'm looking forward to reading the companion books :)
