And damn she got me again with the tears. We finally get Jules and Shane’s story! If you are at all familiar with Taylor’s Meade Lake series you will recognize these two from the flashbacks in book one, and we see Jules in book two. Jules, Tommy, and Shane were inseparable until tragedy struck, and Tommy was gone. This causes Shane to leave town, but fast forward eleven years and Shane is back in Meade Lake. I don’t think I was ready for another gut wrenching emotional book by Taylor but she gave it to us anyway. It was amazing. When I talked to Taylor on my Podcast I thought Stones Unturned was my new favorite, and now I am not so sure. Each story in this series was amazing in it’s own way, but it also gave us some real life lessons. Sometimes the books with those lessons end up being some of the best books we could have ever read. I strongly urge you to check out this series, and add them to your TBR GoodReads lists. You absolutely will not be disappointed when you read these books.

In Winters Past is the third title in the Meade Lake series. I’m really enjoying these stories in the Lake Meade world, and Jules and Shane’s story was an emotional and captivating second chance love story of friendship, love and grief.

This was beautifully written story and captures your attention with this emotional and angsty romance. I just feel that the ending and resolution was rushed and could have been explored more.

I love my visits to Meade Lake and this latest book was everything I didn't know I needed. Jules, Tommy, and Shane were best friends. Three beautiful individuals who demonstrated just how males and females could be just friends. They were a great support system to each other and the rest of their friends. But when tragedy struck, one of them runs away. In winters past, they lived and loved to the fullest. When a wedding brings the one who got away back to Meade Lake, it takes great willpower and an open mind to listen and finally open their hearts to love. Of the three books in this series, this one shattered me. I felt their pain. Their joy. Their anger. Their love. And at the end of it all, forgiveness for what happened in winters past sealed the pair that was left.

I received an advanced copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.

This was a great quick read! This book will give you all the feels. I found myself chuckling and then feeling the feels. I love story’s when the characters have an amazing friendship first. I think that sets up for an amazing relationship. That’s what you get in this story. I loved Shane and Jules. I wish we got more of them! I didn’t want their story to end! I would absolutely recommend this book!

Received a arc for a honest review.

Oh my stars. My heart. This story will hit you so hard with the feels that you will feel everything that these characters do. I have been in love with this series and getting to find out Jules and Shane’s story will gut you and you learn so much more of the moments that also happened in prior books. My heart was in my throat within the past chapters, learning how these two because each other’s everything to nothing. Then when we are in the present ones, how these two interact and so much more trying to overcome their grief and their past to forge a future.
There is a lot of push and pull between these two. It felt like it could have been a second chance romance though these two never had that before but it is also a friends to lovers story because of how much these two were everything to each other without crossing that like. I found the truths hurt but healed them. The answers that Jules had always been seeking from Shane. Then after that ending, I am dying to find out what happens in this magical lakeside down. I have hopes on whose story will be next!
