Interesting premise, but very old fashioned presentation and writing. Suspense never truly built up enough to be engaging, mostly just talking in circles. Character interactions, romance, and friendships were mostly just weird.
A really interesting premise, but not really done in the best way. The main character was very annoying, and the ending was disappointing to say the least.
This book was interesting, but could have been better in my opinion. I love the plot line of being taken as a child, and finding out that you're actually a missing child. However, I feel like the story was too simple and boring. I'm not sure if this is just because of the age group its aim at or not, but I did not enjoy it as much as I had hoped. While the idea is interesting, I do not care enough to read on and see what happens to Janie and her families.
the writing style is too much on the basic side for me
i would have read this in 5th grade
but the plot was very interesting and even tho i had to read it, i still had a good time figuring out what really happened

Book 2 of the 2017 Summer Biannual Bibliothon. Completed the challenge read a banned book.
I am not a fan of this book. The only reason it has 2 and not 1 is because of the idea. The idea of someone recognizing them self as a missing person from a decade ago is brilliant to me. Too bad that's as far as this novel went.
First off, these kids were supposedly in high school, yet I felt as if they were elementary schoolers. I was so thrown off every time Reeve, a high school senior, mentioned sex.
Second, I didn't like the writing style at all. I just couldn't get into it.
Although I liked the idea of the plot, it felt poorly done while reading.
Lastly, I HATED the main character. She was so damn annoying. I understand that she was a year younger than she thought, but that would make her 15. She acted 5, the age at which she believed she was kidnapped.
In the end I'm not sure if I'm going to continue. The same issues will be in the follow-ups, but I'm very curious as to how this story ends. I will probably just look up what happens. Very disappointed.

How would you like to recognize yourself on a milk carton, but not sure what to do about it? That’s what Janie is having to face everyday.
I’ve watched the movie to this but I didn’t know it had another 2 books behind it. So if you have watched the movie, you may consider reading the book! Still very intriguing.

Read this as a teen, then reread it a few weeks ago.. Loved it then, love it now. Great Story that really gets you thinking. Oi rented the other three books from the library and am looking forward to finishing the series!
