I haven’t read many pirate books, mostly because pirates don’t interest me very much.

But I will fully admit that I gave book 1 a chance because of the pretty edges.

Book 2, surprisingly, didn’t suffer from the issue sequels can, especially in a trilogy.  We met new characters, received more insight into Alosa’s powers and her crew.  And I loved the descriptions in the book.

This was an adventure on the high seas that I greatly enjoyed!

7.5/10 | "Daughter of the Siren Queen" is a fantastic continuation that vividly portrays a crew of badass female pirates, an adorable romance, and a captain deeply devoted to her crew. If you're looking for a swift, captivating journey filled with adventure, this book offers a perfect literary escape. Highly recommended!

I've found an affinity for pirate books over the past few years, and particularly ones with female main characters. I really enjoyed the first book in this series, but I think I actually preferred this one. There was more depth to the characters and the story drew me in right from the beginning. I would love to see this series eventually get adapted for a film or TV series, and the author definitely provides plenty of material to work with. This was some of the best multi-layered storytelling I've read in a while.

I am one of the few that actually prefered the first part, since I liked the main characters' chemistry a bit more. Still a really good and easy book to read, not bad by any standard.

TL;DR: A young woman gains a better understanding of her family and the gifts from her heritage. Through facing these challenges, she forms deeper connections with the found family she loves.
