This was very interesting. For most of the book, I felt like I was in the dark about important information. The push and pull between Aurora and Angelo was maddening. It was also so hard to watch Aurora being abused by people and no one caring to help her. This is definitely a case of not even morally grey just all villain. In the end, I enjoyed the journey of reading and was anxious to figure out how things pieced together, but it took way too long to get to content I was happy with. The ending felt abrupt.

šŸ•Šļø Kindle + KU - Dark Romance mafia

Plot: Rory is engaged to a 70 year old, gross, old mafia boss - Alberto. Under Alberto’s control, Rory is living with her soon to be husband, when his nephew, Angelo returns home. ā™£ļø I loved the forbidden romance between the characters. Plus there is so much sexual chemistry - she is his uncle’s fiancĆ©e and he cannot touch her…

Writing: The writing is so enjoyable!! The writer clearly portrays each character’s personalities and internal conflict.

Characters: Rory such a lovable character, she would do anything for her father, including marry a creepy, old man. Angelo is your reformed bad boy, who seems to quickly revert to his dark ways as soon as he meets Rory.

Overall: This is one of my favourite books and this series is so addictive. The had be gasping and blushing. So many secrets and confessions!

*Please note this book deals with dark themes and to check the trigger warnings before reading*

I’m officially hooked. The tension in this book was off the charts and so was the dark chemistry between Rory and Angelo. The bird word thing was annoying, but as the story went on, I got used to it. The church scene and the scene at the Halloween party? TOP TIER! This book technically ends on a cliffhanger, but just about everything is wrapped up. It just means we know some of the stuff to expect in book two.

Only thing I didn’t enjoy were the reminders that Alberto was disgusting and how that was tied to his weight. That man was horrible and disgusting all on his own, so making his weight part of the punchline was unnecessary.  The ā€œvillain is unattractive and disgusting especially because he’s fatā€ thing is played out. Can we let it go?
